Dates for the 2023-24 STEAM Meetings
Math and science leadership groups have combined allowing us to have both specific subject-level discussions and also times focusing on integrating science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics. These sessions encourage collaboration among STEM leaders. Each meeting includes time for focusing on the major study for the year, open sharing between leaders, specialists sharing pertinent information, planning for leadership in our schools, occasional guest speakers, and other topics as needed by the group. This year the major focus is continuing a book study of “Building Thinking Classrooms” by Peter Liljedahl (the book will be provided for those who plan to attend regularly). Time is provided for discussion with leaders from other schools. Meeting times and the number of credit hours may be adjusted depending on needs at the time. A more specific agenda is sent out by the mathematics and science leaders by email a week or two before each meeting. If you would like more information or be added to the email list, contact Tim Brister, tbrister@wdmesc.org; Pam Allen, [email protected], Sandy Roe, [email protected]; or Ben Carrigan, [email protected].
Each session is scheduled to be held in the Computer Lab at Wilbur D. Mills Co-op

2022 STEAM Week
We are so excited to team up with Northwest Arkansas Cooperative for STEAM Week! Click below for links to several STEAM activities. These can be used in your classroom, shared with students to do on their own, or adapted to something you are doing in your classroom. In the middle of the week, we will have Real World Wednesday (the zoom link for all sessions can be found here). Starting at 9:00 am that day, we will have live zooms with people who are currently working in a STEAM field. If you don't have time to watch them live, we will be recording each of the zoom sessions and will send out links later in the week. You can watch as many or as few as you like at your convenience. If you have any questions or encounter any issues, please let us know. Have a blessed day and a HAPPY STEAM WEEK!
Sincerely,
Your STEAM Team
